In recognition of Family Day Kite Festival, Mayor Gavin Newsom has proclaimed Sunday, September 16, 2007: Family Day in San Francisco 
Founder Ron Young and a squad of happy young kite fliers smile for the camera as beloved SF Mayor George Moscone proclaims October 1, 1978 Family Day in San Francisco, in recognition of that year's Family Day Kite Festival.
